Overview

In 2025, Pillr was re-engaged to extend the visual campaign for Atlas Melbourne, one of Melbourne’s landmark residential developments.

The scope included two- and three-bedroom 360° walkthroughs, additional high-resolution renders, two cinematic video animations, and a complete interior design and decoration specification package.

The goal was to create an immersive, photo-real experience that elevated the next phase of marketing while maintaining the integrity of the project’s architectural intent.

The Challenge

This stage of Atlas Melbourne required precision on multiple fronts. Pillr was responsible not only for the visualisation but also for the interior styling and specification, defining furniture layouts, finishes, and decorative details that matched the project’s premium aesthetic.

With limited models, a tight budget, and an ambitious timeline, every decision needed to maximise visual impact without compromising design intent.

The biggest technical challenge was achieving pinpoint realism in 360°, particularly with lighting and shadow transitions across multiple viewing angles. Maintaining balance between artistic depth and real-time performance demanded detailed calibration in every render and animation.

The project also blended 3D-rendered interiors with panoramic drone viewlines captured by AX Creative, integrating real-world context into the virtual environment. Combining these elements seamlessly required precise work in composition, scale, and tone to ensure visual consistency.

The Approach

Pillr rebuilt the entire environment in Unreal Engine 5, the studio’s real-time production core, allowing for flexible, high-fidelity rendering with full control over lighting, reflections, and materials.

Each room was constructed and styled from the ground up, balancing interior decoration, spatial layout, and natural light direction. The team developed custom light rigs, adjusted exposure levels frame by frame, and refined every physical material to ensure textures responded accurately under 360° conditions.

The interior specification process was equally detailed. Working from floor plans and elevations, Pillr created a full design package defining finishes, furnishings, and decor selections. This ensured that every visual accurately represented the project’s architectural and design intent.

After completing the static and animated assets, the team delivered a live Unreal Engine 5 build that allowed the client to explore the apartments interactively in real time. The ability to navigate, adjust lighting, and experience the design dynamically left a lasting impression on the client.

The Outcome

The final deliverables included photorealistic 360° walkthroughs, cinematic video animations, and a full design specification package that combined digital artistry with real-world design direction.

Every surface, shadow, and reflection was crafted with precision to create an authentic, immersive experience. The result was a marketing suite that demonstrated the true potential of real-time visualisation in luxury property campaigns.

Atlas Melbourne 2025 reflects Pillr’s focus on precision, design understanding, and technical expertise. By blending 3D design, interior styling, and real-time technology, the team delivered a result that exceeded client expectations both visually and technically.
